About

Movex is a concept streaming platform built around interactive, customizable cinematography, designed to give viewers deep immersion in the films they watch rather than a passive viewing experience.

This project was created as part of a Mail.ru design competition for product designers. I conceptualized the idea, designed the flows, features, and mechanics, and created a custom UI kit inspired by the Swiss design school.

Experience

The core idea was to let users reshape a film, not just watch it. Elements like actors, shooting style, and music can be customized either before playback or live while the film is running, so the viewing experience isn't fixed in advance.

Beyond adjusting these elements, users can affect the plot itself, assign specific actors, and interact directly with objects, characters, and cameras within the story. In 2021, this looked like an unrealistic concept, but we later saw Netflix realize something similar in one of Black Mirror's interactive episodes, where viewers could choose the plot. Now, with AI technology, this kind of realization seems far more feasible.
